Carol Clark, General Counsel

As General Counsel, Carol Clark provides legal advice and counsel for the Foundation, working alongside the executive team and Foundation Board.

Before joining the Foundation in 2004, Carol represented a number of major clients in Austin including Radian International, Austin American Statesman, St. Edward’s University and St. David’s Foundation. She joined the law firm of Baker Botts in Houston in 1974 and became a partner in 1980, the first year women were admitted to partnership in the firm. In 1987 the Austin law firm of Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody asked Ms. Clark to move to Austin as a partner in the firm.

Carol graduated from the University of Texas School of Law and was the second woman to clerk for the Texas Supreme Court.
