St. David’s Foundation invests in the organizational health of our grant partners through the Foundation’s CapacityWorks program. CapacityWorks provides a comprehensive set of tools for grant partners to strengthen their fundamentals. By building up core capacities, grant partners can more effectively focus on their missions and meet the rapidly shifting needs in Central Texas.
CapacityWorks offers 3 different ways for grant partners to invest in their organizational health:
Grants: Grant partners may apply for funding to support capacity building projects related to, for example:
- Evaluation and learning
- Staff/board leadership
- Financial management
- Strategic planning
Learning Labs: Through periodic workshops and retreats, CapacityWorks Learning Labs provide grant partners with cutting edge information and research related to best practices in nonprofit management and governance. Please check our website for information on upcoming Learning Lab topics.
Capacity Academy: A 3-year capacity-building initiative for a cohort of grant partners, which provides grant funding, access to executive coaching, and participation in a learning community. Participation to the Capacity Academy is through a competitive application process, and by invitation only. The pilot class was selected in November 2014 and an evaluation of the pilot will drive Academy design in subsequent years. Current participants are:
