Capacity Building

We believe that great programs require great organizations and St. David’s Foundation is committed to investing in the organizational health of our grant partners. We recognize the profound shifts and transitions the health sector in Central Texas is experiencing. Therefore, we support leaders and organizations who embrace this change and actively work to guide organizations through it.

The St. David’s Dental Program

With a fleet of nine mobile dental clinics, our Healthy Smiles program is spreading big, healthy smiles across Central Texas. As the largest mobile dental program providing charity care in the nation, we’re honored to be a model for similar efforts across the country.

Our program offers free dental screenings, sealants and acute care to students at high needs elementary schools within six Central Texas school districts. When school’s not in session, our vans visit safety net clinics to serve adults and families.

Good Measure

St. David’s Foundation believes that using data to drive decision-making ultimately translates into creating a larger impact in the community. Because of this, the Foundation is a proud member of Good Measure, a collaboration dedicated to changing how organizations, nonprofits as well as funders, think about and use data to drive impact. Through Good Measure, Austin funders have joined together to pool resources, commit staff time, and provide a unified voice concerning the importance of using evaluation for learning and continuous improvement.

AgingWell

Central Texas has one of the fastest growing aging populations in the country and is predicted to double in the next 20 years. St. David’s Foundation Community Fund created AgingWell to address the growing needs of the aging population with a mission of bringing together individuals and community partners to improve the lives of older adults and their caregivers.

Scholarships

Our mission relies heavily on the tireless work of talented, dedicated health care professionals. As we look to the future, we count on the next generation of physicians, nurses, dentists and lab technicians to carry the torch.

To help meet this critical need, our scholarship programs provide financial support for area students pursuing health care careers. Our programs have empowered hundreds of graduates from Central Texas high schools to take the next step toward their desired professions and ensure the future of good health in underserved communities.

Toast of the Town

Presented by the St. David’s Foundation Community Fund, Toast of the Town is a series of unique events hosted in private homes and interesting venues throughout central Texas each spring to raise money and awareness for the St. David’s Neal Kocurek Scholarship Fund.
