Dr. Edward Burger is the President and CEO of St. David’s Foundation, where he oversees all the Foundation’s philanthropic and operational endeavors aimed at improving the lives of individuals throughout Central Texas both today and tomorrow.
Prior to joining the Foundation in January 2020, Ed served as President at Southwestern University and before that as Professor of Mathematics at Williams College. A leader on thinking, innovation, and creativity, Ed is also the author of more than 70 research articles, books, and videos. He has delivered more than 800 addresses worldwide and has starred in more than 5,000 online math tutorial videos.
Ed graduated from Connecticut College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude with distinction, in mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Waterloo in Canada. In 2013, he was awarded an LL.D. honorary degree by Williams College.
