Toast of the Town
Presented by the St. David’s Foundation Community Fund, Toast of the Town is a series of unique events hosted in private homes and interesting venues throughout Central Texas each spring to raise money and awareness for the St. David’s Neal Kocurek Scholarship Fund.
A Beloved Austin Tradition
Toast of the Town is a springtime staple in the Austin philanthropic community, hosting intimate dinner parties in private homes and interesting venues across Austin. They are exclusive, eclectic, and intentionally elevated to create experiences worth your while.
The concept of Toast is truly unique and built on a model that speaks from the heart — opening one’s home to host intimate gatherings. Since launching in 1984, it remains a favorite annual of suite of philanthropic social events for our many supporters. The soirees and programming change every year, offering something special for every taste and interest.
Just a few recent highlights include curated conversations with special guests like Sergio Guadarrama, Loreal and Steve Sarkisian, journalist and author Neal Spelce, and a private dinner at Q2 Stadium with the leadership of Austin FC hosted by St. David’s HealthCare. The last Toast of the Town season of giving raised $578,000 for Central Texas healthcare scholarships from 600 attendees at 20 unique special events.
Supporting Students Pursuing Professions in Health Care
All proceeds from Toast of the Town sponsorships and tickets — magnified by a two-to-one match by St. David’s Foundation Community Fund — are dedicated to the St. David’s Neal Kocurek Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund awards needs and merit based scholarships to Central Texas high school seniors for their education in health-related degree programs at Texas colleges and universities.
