Our 2022 Grantmaking to Date

St. David’s Foundation invests $28+ million back into the Central Texas community

St. David’s Foundation, one of the largest health foundations in the country, has announced more than $28 million in grant funding to benefit Central Texas. A total of 62 grants were awarded from January through August across 48 local and grassroots organizations that provide essential services and reflect the Foundation’s commitment to advancing health equity.

The most significant portion of these new investments will support children and families to increase health, economic well-being, and family resilience; ensure that more people have access to medical and behavioral care through safety net clinics; support systems to address housing and homelessness; and reinforce our commitment to accessing women’s health services and health care in our community.

In our continued response to the housing affordability crisis and resulting issues of homelessness, more than $10 million has been invested in the local affordable housing continuum and related system infrastructure. These investments support a range of projects aligned with the community-led initiative, “Finding Home ATX”, to test ideas to improve affordable housing supply and strengthen the city’s homeless response system, including grants to LifeWorks, Austin Community Foundation, UpTogether, and Foundation Communities.

The remaining investments were distributed across the Foundation’s strategic priorities to serve and support the immediate needs of the community. Through strategic grantmaking, the Foundation seeks to support organizations that promote health and well-being across the following areas of opportunity: Resilient Children; Healthy Women and Girls; Older Adults Age in Place; Thriving Rural Communities; Clinics as Community Hubs for Health.

“We are committed to investing in long-term solutions that advance health equity and access to quality care. These grants represent the intersection of our continued support for direct services with efforts to address the root causes of health inequity in our region,” said Regan Gruber Moffitt, Vice President of Community Investments at St. David’s Foundation.

Each of the 48 grantee organizations was selected for their meaningful impact helping underserved and marginalized Central Texas residents. See a full list of 2022 grant recipients to date below.
