Given the exciting movement across St. David’s Foundation in the past year – recently launched strategic vision and direction, a new website on the horizon, and our evolving ways of working – this is the right moment for updating our visual identity. The new brand identity introduced here reflects the ongoing evolution of our organization. Beyond a logo, it’s a visual story of our organization.
For some context, the Foundation’s previous logo was originally created in 2009, when the organization’s name changed from St. David’s Community Health Foundation to St. David’s Foundation. It established who we were, our connection to St. David’s HealthCare, and our commitment to the communities we serve. Thirteen years later, this brand refresh provides the opportunity to highlight who we are today. As a community-focused and equity-driven organization, we wanted a visual identity that would be welcoming, inclusive, and reflective of the regions we serve. To help us, we partnered with social impact design agency, Constructive.
The most notable change in our visual identity is the addition of the of the icon: the star, a nod to our Lone Star State, has five points with five distinctive colors that represent the counties we serve in Central Texas – Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson.
The new look also offers us a more vibrant palette, including warm and complex colors, to create a welcoming and communal feel. A small but important element is the overlapping sections of the star. This feature represents our growing population, the blurring of county lines, and the possibility of collaboration. As needs and opportunities are identified across and between counties, we have discovered that more regional approaches and cross-county partnerships will enhance our collective efforts.
This new visual identity reflects who we are and what we represent. As the Foundation seeks to advance health equity through investment and action, it will help us use our voice to foster a vibrant and inclusive community in which every individual can flourish and reach their full potential. We are excited to bring this new look forward to help tell our story.
