Southeast Travis County facility to provide operational home base for the Foundation’s Dental Program
St. David’s Foundation has announced the development of a new Dental Hub facility in the Mustang Ridge area of Southeast Travis County, marking a $4.3 million investment in its Dental Program—the largest mobile charity dental program in the country.
Once complete, the new dental hub facility will allow the Foundation to optimize logistics, improve the longevity of its mobile clinics, and better serve the growing needs of marginalized populations in the region, where many continue to face the impacts of inequitable healthcare, housing, and education systems and policies.
Located in a Health Equity Zone of Central Texas—where communities are facing the greatest health needs—the new facility will serve as the operational base for the St. David’s Foundation Dental Program. The team includes more than 50 clinical and operations staff, and a fleet of 10 mobile dental clinics, each equipped with two dental exam stations, x-rays, and computer workstations.
This marks the first phase of development on the property, with the potential for future expansion to meet the growing needs of the region. Dental care treatment and complex care services continue year-round at qualifying elementary schools and partner sites across Central Texas.
Established in 2000, the St. David’s Foundation Dental Program provides free, high quality dental care to children at Title 1 elementary schools in Central Texas (Bastrop, Hays, Caldwell, Travis, and Williamson counties). Serving more than 5,000 patients each year, board-certified dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants provide high-quality dental care to children and offer evidence-based oral healthcare – including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and oral health education – for children who lack access to quality, affordable oral healthcare.
Our Impact in Central Texas
We envision a Central Texas where school-aged children—regardless of family background, means, or geography—can achieve optimal oral health that enhances their learning and serves as a foundation for lifelong health and well-being.
To date, the St. David’s Foundation Dental Program has conducted over 255,000 dental visits, treated over 109,000 patients, and placed over 100,000 sealants, totaling nearly $115 million invested in dental treatment for our community.
