Since the enactment of the Affordable Care Act over a decade ago, the federal health insurance marketplace has helped tens of millions of Americans get health insurance, including 1.8 million Texans this past year. 

Yet there is still much work to be done, especially for Central Texans disproportionately impacted by care barriers and systemic inequities. 

St. David’s Foundation and its partners are committed to educating and empowering Central Texans to access affordable health insurance coverage.

Helping individuals get insured also supports our community, as improving the health of Central Texans will take the burden off an already-strained healthcare system. Health coverage is the foundation upon which health equity can be sustained. 

Open Enrollment 

The 2023-2024 Open Enrollment period will run from November 1, 2023 through January 15, 2024, on HealthCare.gov. 

Open enrollment is for people who don’t have health coverage through employment and/or government programs such as Medicare, who can sign up for quality, affordable health insurance on the Health Insurance Marketplace—also referred as an “exchange.”
